Carolyn F. Tighe

Dr. Tighe is President and Owner of Therapy Associates of Denbigh/Gloucester. Prior to establishing Therapy Associates, she worked in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. She has worked extensively with individuals involved in domestic violence and has treated both victims and perpetrators. She was co-founder of one of the first battered women's shelters in the state of Virginia.
Dr. Tighe has treated individuals from age 5 to older adults. She is especially interested in and experienced in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.
In addition to Dr. Tighe's psychotherapy practice, she has conducted anger management groups for civilians and the military. She also provides conflict management training for the Air Force, along with psychological disability evaluations for the Department of Rehabilitative Services.
Her doctorate is from the College of William & Mary's Department of Counseling and School Psychology.

Ms. Austin worked in the mental health/social services since 1989. She is a graduate of Niagara University and has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, a European Division and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been affiliated with Therapy Associates of Denbigh, Inc. since 1999. She provides counseling and therapy services for individuals, ages 12 through senior citizens, couples, families, and groups.

Mr. Huppert has been an individual, marital, and family therapist for the past thirty years. He particularly specializes in marital problem areas. Mr. Huppert graduated from Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University. He served in the U.S. Army as a Social Work Officer for five years and for three of those years, he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. He and his wife have three children and five grandchildren.

Richard B. Griffin

Dr. Griffin has general practice in clinical psychology and works with children, adolescents, and adults. He treats most types of psychological problems and he specializes in child/adolescent psychology and clinical hypnosis. Dr. Griffin has worked with children, adolescents and their families in clinical and public school settings for over 30 years. He often utilizes a behavioral approach and believes that it is crucial to work closely with parents and involve them in the therapy process. He treats youngsters who have depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, behavior problems, poor school performance, autism, ADHD, Asperger's, and Bipolar Disorders.
Dr. Griffin also specializes in clinical hypnosis and has over 20 years of experience in the field. He has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on clinical hypnosis for mental health professionals and family physicians. He has made presentations at the state and national level, and is a past president of the Virginia Hypnosis Society. Research has show hypnosis to be effective in the treatment of anxiety, depression, phobias, chronic pain, nicotine dependence, obesity, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and other medical problems. Children as well as adults benefit from hypnotic interventions.
Dr. Griffin is published in the fields of child psychology and clinical hypnosis. He served on the Community Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Eastern Virginia School in Norfolk, Virginia for 15 years.
Nayda M. Flores

Dr. Flores received her Ph.D. in psychology from Michigan State University in 1995. She maintains a full-time private practice with Therapy Associates of Denbigh in Newport News, Virginia. Dr. Flores provides psychotherapy and psychological assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience treating most psychological problems ranging from coping with common life problems to severe mental illness.

Dr. Flores is an Adjunct Faculty at the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia. She is fully bilingual (Spanish-English).
Dr. Flores did her pre-doctoral internship at the Illinois State Psychiatrist Institute in Chicago, Illinois and her post-doctoral residence at The Child Abuse Center of Hampton Roads in Norfolk, Virginia and at the Suffolk Psychiatric Group in Suffolk, Virginia.
